Dr. Tyrone W. McCombs is a second generation member of the Church of God in Christ and is the son of the late Charles and Mary Wilbon-McCombs.  Dr. McCombs was raised in Miller’s Temple Church of God in Christ in Palmyra New Jersey and the Camden District under the leadership of the late District Superintendent George and Mother Martha Miller.  From youth to adulthood, Dr. McCombs was very involved in the Local, District and Jurisdictional work as a Sunshine Band member, Boys League member, Usher, Choir Member and Director, Local YPWW Secretary at the age of 7, District Choir Secretary, District YPWW Secretary, and at an early age of 17, Dr. McCombs received his first Jurisdictional appointment by the late Bishop Esau Courtney and former Supervisor of Women, Mother Lucille Bazemore-Spann as the President of the State Boy’s League of New Jersey First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Since the founding of the South Jersey Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Dr. McCombs has served in various leadership positions such as an Administrative Assistant and Chief Operating Officer under the founder Bishop Curley Guidry and as Second Administrative Assistant and Chief Operating Officer under Bishop Hillmon Moses. Dr. McCombs serves as a member of Tabernacle of Faith COGIC in Camden, New Jersey where he has served for the past 24 years as Executive Assistant to the Pastor – Bishop Moses, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Church Secretary, and Administrator of State of New Jersey Historic Grant for the restoration of the church and various other administrative positions. During the 2015 Convocation of the Jurisdiction, under the leadership of General Board Member, Bishop Frank O. White, Dr. McCombs was recommended by the Pastors to serve as the next Jurisdictional Prelate. The importance of education was instilled in Dr. McCombs by his parents who made many personal sacrifices to provide instruction, guidance and support. Dr. McCombs attended Rutgers University and obtained a Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in English Literature and continued his studies and earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Management and Administration from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Dr. McCombs attributes his academic achievements to his faith in God and by following the Lord throughout his life. In his professional career, Dr. McCombs is an Associate Vice President of Rowan University and Dean of the Camden Campus and manages the academic affairs related to the Graduate School, on-line programs, and Community College partnerships. Currently, Dr. McCombs is overseeing a $17.6-million restoration project of a new academic facility for the Camden Campus. Dr. McCombs is also a tenured Professor in the College of Education of the University.   Dr. McCombs has been happily married for 20 years to Mrs. Katrina Young-McCombs, who is the Deputy Superintendent for the City of Camden School System.  Dr. and Mrs. McCombs are the proud parents of two daughters – Tyra Faith and Nia Hope McCombs.  Most importantly, Dr. McCombs loves the Lord and has given his life to the Lord.  His favorite scriptures are “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to your own understanding…In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path…”

Mother Deborah R. Kitchen was born Deborah R. Williams on May 25, 1957 to Fred and Esther Williams in New York, City, New York.  When Mother Kitchen was six years old she moved with her mother to Camden, New Jersey. Mother Kitchen graduated from Camden High School with honors and continued her education at Howard University in Washington D.C. and also at Caldwell College in Caldwell, New Jersey where she received a degree in Banking and Business. Mother Kitchen was saved at the age of 13 at Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in Camden, New Jersey under the Pastorate of Elder Charles E. Giddins, Sr.  Her young adult life was spent at Morning Star COGIC in Newark, New Jersey under Pastor D. M. Willis.  Mother Kitchen worked in every capacity of the church. On August 27, 1977, Mother Kitchen married Elder John E. Kitchen, Sr.  The Lord has blessed them with two sons, Makal and John E. Kitchen, Jr.  In 1984, God moved on Elder Kitchen to return to Southern New Jersey where she currently fellowships at Mt. Zion COGIC in Atlantic City, New Jersey where Elder Kitchen is currently the Pastor and now serves as the District Superintendent of the First Garden District. In August 1989, the late Superintendent Charles E. Giddins, Sr. appointed Mother Kitchen as District Missionary of the First Garden District of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Jurisdiction. During the formation of the South Jersey Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, the late Bishop Curley Guidry, our founding Jurisdictional Prelate, appointed Mother Deborah Kitchen as our Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women.  During the Church of God in Christ Holy Convocation of 2008, Mother Deborah R. Kitchen was officially installed by General Supervisor Mother Willie Mae Rivers as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women of the South Jersey Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of New Jersey. Mother Kitchen’s desire is to move forward and to do bigger and better things as God continues to bless.  Above all, she is a child of the King.  Remember the words of the scripture, Micah 6:8
